1. This show adheres to the rules of the American Rose Society in organizing a rose show. Anyone may exhibit roses in this show if all roses have been grown in the exhibitor's outdoor garden.
2. All exhibitors must register at the registration desk.
3. Only ARS entry tags may be used, folded with only the upper portion of the entry tag completed. Use only black or blue ballpoint pen. No ink pens.
4. Only one exhibitor or one team from any one garden may enter any class. More than one entry of the same variety by an exhibitor in a class will disqualify both.
5. The responsibility for proper identification and classification lies with the exhibitor.
6. This is an alphabetically arranged show. Each variety will constitute a separate group within the class, and will be judged on its merits for that variety.
7. Exhibitors may place their own entries or use Placement Committee. Exhibitors interfering, touching or moving other exhibitors' entries will have all their entries disqualified. Classes 4, 5 & 21 are Challenge classes. All efforts will be made to insure proper placement.
8. During judging, only individuals with specifically assigned jobs, should be in the show area. Exhibitors and visitors are asked not communicate with Judges & Clerks or interfere with the judging process.
9. Inconspicuous wedging or support is permitted. Judges may penalize for distracting wedging.
10. Avoid disqualification. A rose entry is disqualified if it is Misnamed, Misclassed, Mislabeled or Misplaced. Stem on Stem (except Old Garden Roses and Shrubs). Foreign substance on foliage, stem and bloom. Failure to disbud when required. Violation of ARS or local show rules. If an entry is disqualified the judges will write the reason on the entry tag.
11. Neither the Orange County Rose Society nor the Mall Of Orange accepts responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
12. Official publications for use in judging include: MRXI, American Rose Magazines, ARS Annuals, Handbook For Selecting Roses, Combined Rose List. Any discrepancy between ARS publication and CRL defer to ARS publication. All entries must use official ARS exibition names listed in publications above.
13. Trophies will be awarded on Saturday, October 28, 2000 at 2 PM. All winners should be present or should make specific arrangements for their trophy acceptance with the showchair or the trophychair.
14. Special Notice: OCRS provides ample show properties (vases, bowls etc.) for all exhibitors, and does not permit any exchanges of or removal of properties from the premises. OCRS considers any exhibitor's property entered into the competition a donation to the society. The exceptions are arrangement container(s) and vase(s) for multiple horticultural entries so noted in the schedule. Exhibitors are asked to mark their name discretely on the bottom of the vase(s), not to be visible to the judges. Horticultural exhibitors should arrange for pick up of their property(s) at the close of the show. Property storage boxes may not be used by exhibitors or removed from storage area.
