An auction of 100 rare and unusual out of commerce roses, including many roses with a local provenance, and others offered prior to national introduction. Bob Martin, Jr will provide his auctioneering expertise. There will also be fixed sale rose plants as well as a silent auction of rose memorabilia. The naming right to a new rose from Paul Barden will be the climax of the auction at approxiamtely 1:00 p.m.

Pacific Rose Society Rose Show
Pacific Rose Society, the oldest rose society in the Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties will be hosting the largest rose show in the United States.
With the theme 'Dance with Roses', this new and expanded show schedule now boasts of over 75 classes available for exhibitors, plus a comprehensive schedule of classes for arrangers. Over a dozen new classes have been added including one class for youngsters (under 12) and a young adult category (13-19). Everyone is invited to enter the show and entries will be received 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25. There is no charge to enter roses and vases and entry tags will be provided.
This is a once a year opportunity to see roses at there best, plus rosarians will be present to answer rose questions.
The show will open to the general public on Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. and all day Sunday. Entry is free, but the arboretum does charge a fee to enter the arboretum grounds.

California Coastal Rose Society 22nd Annual Rose Show

The CCRS show is one of the largest American Rose Society sponsored shows in southern California. The organization is expecting over 600 entries and 1000 blooms from approximately 50 exhibitors from all over southern California. The show is open to both beginning and experienced rose competitors, and all are encouraged to bring their blossoms to exhibit. A variety of categories are available for entry, including a novice section designed for those who are new to participating in rose shows. The categories include various combinations of blooms and styles of display for many kinds of roses including hybrid teas, grandifloras, polyanthas, climbers, shrubs, miniatures, and old garden roses. A separate division is dedicated to various styles of rose floral arrangements.
