Of course the answer is why now? Gardening has been my passion and relaxation for many years. Being a Baby Boomer, I will need a hobby when I retire in the near future, and gardening has been the answer. And if you garden, why not roses, our National Floral Emblem? Roses are the easiest to care for and best blooming plants available and they grow in all areas of the United States. Add the wide range of colors and bloom form, you can’t go wrong.
The American Rose Society is the answer to all of your rose questions. We have an excellent monthly magazine with subjects covering all disciplines of enjoying roses, a top notch website, educational information and programs, reciprocal access to other public gardens, special benefits, and a whole host of fellow rosarians to help you with your questions.
The reason I joined and have been active? It is the people. Rosarians are the greatest people on earth and are willing to help you. It is like having an extended family.
Compared to other horticultural organizations, membership in the ARS is relatively inexpensive, and you get a lot for your money. Membership also makes a great gift idea for your gardening friends.
So take advantage of our special membership offers, especially the three year membership for just $100, and you won’t regret it!
